What we ask for when you donate, why we ask for it, and what we do with it.
When you give through our gift catalog, we ask for your name and email address so we can send your tax-deductible receipt. You may also choose to give a phone number and a mailing address; both are optional and neither is required to donate.
If you tick the box asking for occasional updates, we record that choice alongside your details. It is unticked by default, and leaving it unticked has no effect on your donation.
Payments are handled entirely by PayPal. Card numbers, bank details and PayPal login credentials are entered on PayPal's own systems and never reach this website or American Friends of CRP.
Donations sent by Zelle or by cheque are handled by your bank or by post, and the same applies — we only ever see what your bank or your cheque tells us.
To process your gift, to send your receipt, and to keep the records a US 501(c)(3) charity is required to keep.
We send updates about CRP's work only to people who asked for them. We do not sell, rent or trade your details, and we do not share them with anyone except where the law requires it or where a service we use — PayPal, for instance — needs them to complete your donation.
If you dedicate a gift to someone, we record the name you enter so it can appear on your donation record. We do not ask for, and do not want, that person's contact details.
Every update we send carries an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also write to us at the address below and ask to be removed, to see what we hold about you, or to have it deleted.
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may remember whether you chose light or dark mode; that preference stays on your own device.
